Absolutely! Yesterday, I had the opportunity of saying, “Hi” to so many people in Dutch. Translation? Hoi! Multiple times. And, of course, I said and shared it with a gracious smile on my face. And also, with a fun and happy tonality.

The way the Dutch people always and normally say it (HoiI) with enthusiasm. PLUS! Of course, it was with passion and happiness in my voice. I was walking in the streets of South Holland. It was around my neighborhood.

Not far away from where I live. I came across this woman. She is a mother. She was walking and playing with her kids. They were two beautiful, energetic and happy children. One of the kids was maybe 2 or 3 years old

And the other one was maybe around 5 or 6 years old. They were just playing with each other. They were being kids and happy. I looked at the kids, made eye contact with them and smiled. They both smiled back at me.

Guess what they said to me? Hoi! Translation? Hi! I then looked at their mother. She was smiling. Made eye contact Guess what I said to her? Hoi! Translation? Hi!  They were the first people I said, hi (hoi) to yesterday in the middle of the street.
