Pronunciation

Currently, there are no sounds or audio files to allow you to hear and practice the pronunciation. I am working on adding audio files. When they are ready, I will add them to each and every lesson that I have already published.

Ik

Basically , it is the personal pronoun in Dutch. The first person of the singular. I like to use it to refer to myself even when I am not talking to someone in Dutch. (I) You can start using it to refer to yourself as you practice your Dutch phrases.

Houden Van

It literally means “love” in Dutch. Notice how it is made of two words and 9 letters. Unlike the phrase above where we use 7 letters to phrase “I love telephones” for the love of telephones. When you use it with the first person singular, the “”en”” is dropped.

Telefoon

Translation? Telephone. Notice how the “s”” is dropped. Making it a singular instead of a plural “telefoons” from the above and original phrase. When it comes to spelling it, I like to remind myself that it is made of 8 words.
